Q&A

Well, finally got an answer to the many questions that I have been asking. Let's go then and let's go there.

On a lighter note.... One Republic.... I have so got to get their ALBUM! *Fan-girl shriek!

You don't know it...

...but do you have any idea how tempting it is to cave in and give up like those so many other times?

Things don't change

Same old questions.

Same old fears.

Same old insecurities.

Makes me wonder if I will ever outgrow all these.

Elephant in the Room

The elephant in the room is large and grey.
He will sit in there for the rest of the day.
He will squash you up and make you gasp.
Against the wall, you'd be out of breath.
He will flap his ears and stretch his trunk.
He will watch you with his beady eye.
You try to ignore him.
But he is an elephant.
So how do you do that?
So you try again.
You do not acknowledge him.
You do not even look him in the eye.
And yet, by blatantly ignoring him, he is being acknowledged.
He knows this and laughs as only an elephant can.
He trumpets and stretches again.
His trunk curls around your ankle.
You are still adamant and you still ignore him.
No matter. He knows.
He curls up. His trunk still clenched around your ankle.
He is victorious and he knows it.
You?
You're still adamantly ignoring him.

omg omg omg omg omgggggggggggggggg!!!!!

Charity

Everyone has a reason behind the actions they take. Let's look at charity. Why do we do it?

There's really no way I can go about this delicately so I will be blunt. The right approach to charity is to do it because you want to make a difference. You do it because you want to see somebody happy. The other reasons? Some people do it to make themselves feel good and that they are not so horrible and selfish. Some do it for karma, a promise of a better afterlife. Some do it for corporate social responsibility.

Cut to the chase. Many of us do it more for self-gain.

It should actually be about the way nature originally wired us up. Survival of the fittest, leave the old and the sick behind but human nature changed it.

Originally, I used to condemn people who did charity to make themselves happy, one way or another. You can see how idealistic I was, and in many ways, still am.

Do it only because you mean it. Be transparent. That was my battlecry, no prisoners taken.

Sitting back and observing now, you can't help looking at how cruel the world is now. The economic gap is widening, people are gettting poorer. People deserve opportunities but are not getting it. Not with this dog-eat-dog world out there. Everybody has started looking out for themselves without giving a damn about whom they have left behind.

There's a need to make people stop back and to help others along their way. as selfish as it is, maybe it's necessary. If it is what it takes to make people stop and help, so be it. If it is what it takes to make people to part with their belongings, their money or their time to make the world a better place, then so be it.

Yeah, I really should not be so harsh now. It's an acceptance of sorts.
